Tasuku Tsubakino (椿野 佑, Tsubakino Tasuku^?) is a third-year student at Furin High School. They are a member of Bofurin and regarded as one of the Four Heavenly Kings, Leading the Jikoku Team.

Appearance

Tsubaki has long straight black hair with pinkish red edges and blue down-turned eyes. They wear red earrings, and usually are seen with red lipstick and a choker. Their nails are painted red nails and wears the Furin High gakuran jacket along with a white button up, dark grey skirt, and black heeled boots, with a plaid bow or tie on the collar.

Personality

Tsubakino is a very outspoken and confident person. They are quick to dote on others and takes on an older sibling role when talking to their kouhai, particularly to Shizuka. Much like the rest of their peers, Tsubaki is empathetic and quick to help others, they believe in giving people second chances to change. They are highly optimistic, yet regard people with severity if they anger them. Tsubakino fights to protect the things and people they love.

History

Growing up, Tsubakino ignored their interest in makeup and fashion to fit in with their classmates. It isn't until their second year of elementary school when they meet an older couple who respect and love Tsubakino regardless of their interest and appearance that Tsubakino begins to embrace their true self.

When Tsubakino is in their first year of junior high, others frequently pick a fight with them due to their appearance. After a group of boys try to cut Tsubakino's hair and they defeat the group, Umemiya runs in and knocks out the last assailant and asks if Tsubakino is ok. Tsubakino is confused when Umemiya follows them around until Umemiya excitedly states he heard about Tsubakino and their strength. Tsubakino angrily states they are a good fighter because they have to be in order to like the way they look and they had no choice but to fight to protect it. Umemiya states he wants to be their friend and be someone who helps if anyone tries to hurt them. After this, Tsubakino cares greatly for Umemiya.

Tsubakino sees Sakura as a cute, honest, and reliable underclassman, who sees them for who they are without judgement.

Hajime Umemiya

Tsubakino is deeply in love with the leader of Furin, a feeling born from admiration and respect. Those who mock Umemiya earn their anger.

Kotoha Tachibana

Tsubakino is close to Kotoha, affectionately known as ‘Kotoha-chan.’ These two embark on shopping escapades together a lot.

• Tsubakino's gender is debated as Kodansha's English translations still use male pronouns when referring to them. Tsubakino, or anyone else, never outright confirm nor denies being a trans woman, so until further notice, neutral pronouns will be used to avoid misinformation and confusion. (Later confirmed by the mangaka to be a male)
