They return to school and climb to the roof where the first-years meet Hajime Umemiya for the the first time.
Summary
Sakura tells Sugishita that he'll fight the remaining two Shishitoren members and for Sugishita to stand back with the rest of the group. While he and Sugishita argue for a moment, Yukinari Arima approaches the unconscious Saruwatari and nudges his face with his foot and Minoru Kanuma pokes Saruwatari. They both laugh about how he was knocked out by a single kick. Sakura questions to himself why members of the same gang would act with disrespect to a fellow member.
The sound of geta on the ground alerts everybody to someone approaching and Hiragi irritably identifies them as Jo Togame, Shishitoren's Second-In-Command. Sakura thinks of Togame as like a clown as Togame casually surveys the scene, asks the unconcious Saruwatari what happened to him, and greets Hiragi in a slow and nonchalant manner. When Togame refers to the beaten-up Saruwatari as a, "work of art", the Bofurin members shudder and Sakura's opinion of him instantly changes to thinking of him as a superior fighter.
Saruwatari wakes up and starts yelling at the Bofurin members about the rules and borders of Shishitoren's domain until Togame silences him with a strong blow to the head with his Ramune bottle. Togame yells at Saruwatari, asking him if he knows that he got beaten up and how that makes him weak. Hiragi interrupts Togame to question if Saruwatari is a Shishitoren member but Togame looks confused for a moment before realizing that Hiragi is referring to Saruwatari. He explains to the Bofurin members how losing makes Saruwatari weak and therefore losing him his place in Shishitoren as he pulls the Shishioren jacket off of him. Suo comments on how the events happening has confirmed the rumors he has heard about Shishitoren being unfriendly.
Sakura calls Togame and Shishitoren's philosophy about power lame and says that though he thought Shishitoren would be fun, he was disappointed. Kanuma nervously suggests killing Sakure before Togame tells him not to worry about it. Togame comments on how Sakura's hair looks like an Othello board and how the speed at which he speaks is too fast, while Sakura called him slow, pissing Togame off. He decides that he'll fight and beat Sakura in a fight some other time on a proper stage. He leaves with Arima and Kanuma.
Nirei freaks out over Sakura and Sugishita, saying that they've started a war between Bofurin and Shishitoren. Suo attempts to calm him down and admits he missed the point where he should have stepped in, but looking at a stressed Hiragi, he decides it was probably right of him to not say anything. Nirei advises Hiragi to follow the daily dose instructions of the stomach medication pills that Hiragi is taking a large number of and yells at Sakura that he shouldn't have provoked Togame. Hiragi says that it would have happened anyways because of how territorial Togame is. He apolagizes for not stepping in first and tells them that everything has to be reports to Umemiya. The middle schooler introduces themselves as Sasaki before they all walk back to the school.
Climbing the stairs, Sakura sees Hiragi and wonders what kind of guy Umemiya is and if Hiragi is trying to avoid him. They arrive on the roof, surprised by the nice environment with the tennis court, the large amount of well-maintained vegetation and gardens around them. Umemiya calls for Hiragi to come look at the eggplants and green peppers that he has been growing for a possible barbecue. Sakura is stunned speechless Umemiya's personality and is strugging to connect it with one of Bofurin's strongest representatives, Umemiya, in the flesh. Suo thinks about how Umemiya is like a kid and Nirei is excited to meet Umemiya in real life.
