“ | It doesn't matter if we don't win... Roppo Ichiza's job is to ensure that people can entertain and be entertained without fear. As long as we can keep doing that... Then winnin' or losin'... It doesn't matter... There's no point if we lose... Even if you beat all of us here... Even if we end up flat on the ground... As long as the street... As long as Shizuka's safe... Then that's all that matters to us.

— Kanji Nakamura, explaining the philosophy of the Roppo Ichiza to Shuhei Suzuri[1] |
The Roppo Ichiza (六方一座, The Six Troupe) is a small organization made up of people employed in the red-light district. They work hard to protect the street and ensure that everyone can enjoy themselves without worry. Their tasks include the following:[2]
- Act as bodyguards for the girls, acting both as security and escorts.
- Serve as mediators in fights.
- Help with stocking and transportation of goods.
- Clean up the town at dawn.
- Help drunk customers home or get them taxis.
- Help out at stores when they're short on staff.
Serving as staunch allies of Bofurin during the Roppo-Ichiza / Gravel arc, they reappeared in the Noroshi arc as one of the three ally groups (alongside Shishitoren and Gravel)[3][4] to aid Bofurin in their struggle against Noroshi and KEEL[5] when the latter groups invaded Makochi.[6]
Background[]
As the guardians of Keisei Street, the Roppo Ichiza was formed by Kanji Nakamura, who was later joined by other men who worked on the street and shares the same sentiment as him.[7] They were known to have got into a number of engagements with those from Furin prior to the latter being united by current Bofurin rep Hajime Umemiya. Since then, fights between the two groups have basically ceased as relations improved.[8][9]
Appearance[]
The Roppo Ichiza consists of young men, dressed in suits (or other forms of formal wears) and wearing a tie clip consisting of their insignia on a small round badge.[2] While not on duty for the group, they dress more casually[10][11] or in a style more suitable to any of their other occupation(s) that they're involved in.[12][13]
Structure and Fighting Style[]
“ | We'll be fine. Roppo Ichiza's a lot stronger than you think. It's true that we've got fewer people than a team like Furin. But we make up for it with the best of the best!

— Kanji Nakamura, responding to Akihiko Nirei's concern regarding the potential need for extra backup against a more numerically-superior opponent[14] |
To make up for their smaller numbers, each member of the Roppo Ichiza value close-quarter unarmed combat with their opponents and can hold their own in a fight, even when outnumbered.[15] Their chairman Kanji Nakamura is often seen leading by example,[16] (e.g., by charging passionately straight into battle[17][18]) rather than issuing direct orders or commands to those in his group.[19][20] Even when outside of combat, members of the group could understand where their chairman is headed towards in a conversation with someone else.[21]

Trivia[]
- Compared to other known groups/gangs in the series, the Roppo Ichiza is the only one whose members are:
- Not known to have any internal in-fighting or division in their entire history.
- (Despite being within a similar age range) Known to work in other occupations that does not involve being a student (or former student) nor are they directly tied to their activities as members of the Roppo Ichiza.[12][22]
- In terms of numbers, the Roppo Ichiza actually has the fewest members out of any known allied group of Bofurin in the series (i.e., at least 20+ members (by hand count), including the chairman himself).[23]
